Student Leadership Scholarships are awarded to students from your United Methodist congregation who have shown leadership ability in church, school, and community, and have maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Merit Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement. Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA minimum, demonstrate leadership, financial need, or special preparation for ministry or other service, or a combination of these factors.
The Ethnic Minority Scholarship is available to an incoming freshman of ethnic origin who plans to attend any United Methodist college or university and has a 2.5 GPA minimum and financial need.
Students applying for any of these scholarships must meet the following basic criteria plus any specific requirements of the individual scholarship.
- An active member of the United Methodist Church for at least one year prior to applying
- A citizen or permanent resident of the United States
- Attending or planning to attend an accredited institution of higher learning fulltime
These scholarships are awarded by Connectional Ministries: Next Generations Leadership, from the connectional giving of our local churches and the General Board of Higher Education Student Day Offering.
