Ronald W. Richards Music Series

Trinity United Methodist Church has established this music series to glorify God and honor the memory of Trinity's longtime Director of Music, Ronald W. Richards. Free-will offerings are received at each concert toward our continuing support of the Kiwanis Ronald W. Richards Young Musicians Scholarship Fund. Approximately $60,000.00 has been given to Limaland musicians preparing for careers in the field of music through this scholarship that was established in 1986.

About Ronald W. Richards

Ronald W. Richards was the Director of Music for Trinity United Methodist Church from the fall of 1957 until he died in February 1986. During his tenure, he organized the entire choir program of the church starting with the children and youth. He directed the Chancel Choir of all post-high school adults and under his baton, the adult choir presented many of the master choral works including Berlioz' L'Enfance du Christ which was a musical drama staged with the help of his wife, Helen. Mr. Richards gave untiringly of his time to bring outstanding choral literature to the community through our church and through the Lima Public Schools, where he served as Director of Music for 25 years.
